General NDT Inspection Services
ULTRASONIC TESTING (UT)
High frequency sound energy is used to conduct examinations and make measurements by ultrasonic testing. Ultrasonic inspection is applied in flaw detection/evaluation, dimensional measurements, material characterization, etc. This is an approved method for testing of weldments, pipes, complex castings and forgings, tanks, pressure vessels and others.
RADIOGRAPHY (RT)
Radiography involves penetrating Gamma or X-Ray radiation to examine parts and products for imperfections. An x-ray generator or radioactive isotope is used as a source of radiation . Radiation is directed through a part and onto film or other imaging media. The resulting shadowgraph shows the dimensional features of the part. Possible imperfections are indicated on the film as density changes.
LIQUID PENETRANT INSPECTION (PT)
This is one of the most widely used nondestructive methods. Its popularity can be attributed to two main factors: its relative ease of use and its flexibility. This technique can be implied to the inspection of almost any material provided that its surface is not extremely rough or porous. Metals, Glass, ceramic materials, rubber and plastics can be inspected using PT. The method offers flexibility in performing inspections since it can be applied in a large variety of applications ranging from automotive spark plugs to critical aircraft components.
MAGNETIC PARTICLE INSPECTION (MPI)
A quality method used for testing ferrous components for surface breaking defects. This can be applied to bars up to 8 meters in length, castings, forgings, machined components or welds.
ELECTROMAGNETIC TESTING (ET) OR EDDY CURRENT TESTING
This unique method is used to detect changes in chemical composition, hardness, heat treatment, case hardening, etc. in ferro- and non-ferromagnetic materials such as bolts, nuts, forgings and castings.
VISUAL INSPECTION (VT)
Visual inspection involves using an inspector's eyes to look for defects. The inspector may also use special tools such as magnifying glasses, mirrors, or borescopes to gain access to and more closely inspect the subject area
